Bulk Restore Google Workspace Users with GW Manager

Welcome to GW Manager.

In this video, I'll show you how to bulk restore deleted users in Google Workspace

Google offers you a 20 days grace period. If you have deleted a user, you can restore that user within 20 days.

However, with Google Admin Console, you have to do it one by one.

With GW Manager, you can restore deleted users in bulk, let me show you how to do that.

Go to your Google sheet and click on extensions. You should see GW Manager here.

If you need help with the installation, please visit our website, gwmanager.com

Click on launch.

This will launch GW Manager in the sidebar.

Once the sidebar is launched, you'll first need to insert the sheet where you can provide information about which users you want to recover.

You can insert that sheet in two ways, either under features, go to utilities, and then click on insert all sheets, execute, which will insert all the sheets so that you can deal with any of these functions.

For now, I'll go to manage users, under managed users, I'll go to Undelete users and click on insert sheet, when I execute, GW Manager has inserted the sheet and it is asking me to provide user ID and org unit.

This is the user ID that Google assigns and usually admins do not see it.

One way to get this user ID is to run GW Manager to export all of your users.

If you need to learn more about how to export users, you can watch our export Google Workspace users video.

I did the Control F and I'm searching for these four users which I deleted, and their emails are delete-undelete, 1, 2, 3, and four, and here in the user ID column, I also see their user id.

These are the IDs that are required because Google does not allow API restore based on users email addresses.

So I've copied and pasted these IDs here, I will put these users back into the root organizational unit.

I will go to my admin console and do a quick refresh to show you that we have five active users and 78 deleted users.

I'll come back to my sheet and here I provided all the information needed to Undelete users.

I will click on execute, and at this time, GW Manager will start restoring these users for you, if they have been deleted within the last 20 days.

It didn't take much. It tells us that the users are undeleted.

I'll go back to the admin console and if I do a quick refresh, this active status should be changed to nine and deleted should be changed to 74.

If I do a quick reload. We see that that's indeed the case.

This is how you can quickly undelete users in Google Workspace with GW Manager.

It can do a bunch of other things for you.
