One of our customers requested the ability to bulk add Manager's Email for Google Workspace users, while another asked for the option to bulk add Employee IDs.

We listened and acted. In response, we have now expanded our Bulk Update Users feature to include:

Game-Changer New Feature : Tackle Very Large Operations in One Go!

We are excited to announce a groundbreaking update to our GW Manager tool, designed to simplify and enhance your experience when performing bulk operations in Google Workspace. Whether you need to delete thousands of users or handle other extensive tasks, our tool now offers a seamless solution.


The Challenge: Google Apps Script Time Limitations
Previously, customers encountered Google Apps Script execution time limits while performing large-scale operations in Google Workspace using our tool.

Depending on your Google Workspace subscription, the script execution would time out at either 6 minutes or 30 minutes.

So if you have a large operation to delete 100,000 users, it will time out in 30 mins deleting around 4,000 users, and you would need to split your 100k operations in 25 batches of 4000 each.


Our Smart Solution: Automatic Stop and Restart
We are proud to introduce a feature in GW Manager that will revolutionize your workflow – automatic stop and restart. Now, when you embark on large-scale operations, our tool intelligently keeps track of the execution time.

Here's how it works:

  1. ‍Execution Monitoring: As your operation progresses, GW Manager monitors the time spent.‍
  2. Near Limit Warning: When approaching the execution time limit, GW Manager will stop the operation automatically.‍
  3. Seamless Restart: After stopping, GW Manager will pick up from where it left off automatically because it keeps the tracks of operations performed, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted process.

So now if we refer to our same example of deleting 100,000 users, you can simply delete them in one go, no more manual splitting or apps script execution time limit to worry about 💪💪💪

What Does This Mean for You?

  • For example, if you're updating users for a large organization with 1000 users, instead of waiting for all 1000 operations to complete before seeing results, GWManager will update the results in batches of 10.

Bug fix: Improved error handling and enhanced validations in the script

  • Previously, the script had a bug where it would display a generic exception message whenever an error occurred from Directory APIs. This made it difficult for users to understand why the API call failed.
  • In the latest update, we have addressed this issue by modifying the exception model. Now, when an error occurs from the Directory APIs, the script will provide detailed error messages, informing users about the specific issues such as permission problems or incorrect inputs.
  • Furthermore, we have implemented additional validations in the export functions to prevent any potential failures. These validations will help ensure that the script runs smoothly and successfully exports the desired data.
